As a Data Scientist on our team, you will architect, develop, and deploy AI products that touch every part of our business and help our clients improve patient outcomes. Our shared infrastructure and frameworks leverage Apache Spark, Scala, and cloud-based services to safely work with private health data for millions of patients. We want you to help us tackle some of the most challenging health innovation problems at scale by creating and evaluating ML models, evaluating them under sometimes adversarial situations, and packaging these insights for our internal and external customers. We’re searching for a key member of our growing team to set strategic direction/vision and be responsible for the development, implementation, quality, and effectiveness of analytics projects. You’ll propose and implement innovative approaches to meet our clients’ objectives using appropriate analytical frameworks and incorporate data from a variety of sources to make available business intelligence for our clients’ knowledge-based decision-making. You must be able to demonstrate creativity in the design and analysis of projects and interpretation of results; serve as an internal subject matter expert on all things health-care claims data; train/educate existing staff (analytics/operations and account management); and assist in presenting quantitative methodologies and analyses results to internal and external clients as needed. You’ll be conducting data retrieval, analysis and QC of data, as well as serve as claims data SME, combining your therapeutic-area knowledge to facilitate the sales process and assist with any claims/secondary data-based objections.
You should have a master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Economics, Market Research, Operations Research, Programming, Mathematics or Statistics with 10+ years experience in an analytical position, preferably in the healthcare industry, with emphasis on data analysis, data integration and quality assurance. We require demonstrated expertise in pharmaceutical secondary data assets, to be conversant in advanced analytics solutions and experience working directly with brands, analytics functions, and leadership teams at any level of a pharma organization. We’re searching for a contributor to own the transformation of real-world data to provide solutions to address evolving business questions. You’ll support a scalable framework for data collection, extraction, reporting, and analysis; independently research and procure core knowledge in specific therapeutic areas to optimize methodology in data manipulation and processing; mine data to extract insights that drive business decisions; execute data querying, data cleansing, and experiment design; and build internal tools with supportive documentation for projects and process flows.
You have the knowledge and a basic understanding of the fundamental processes of pharmaceutical and medical device industries; an avid interest in healthcare analytics, technology, and clinical data; strong attention to detail with capabilities in multi-tasking in a dynamic working environment; and superior interpersonal and communication skills. We prefer prior experience in forecasting, statistics, predictive modeling, primary/secondary market research, technology & applications, healthcare IT, managed markets, management consulting, sales force effectiveness, sales operations, business intelligence, epidemiology, HEOR, and/or data mining. You should have SQL expertise; the ability to troubleshoot issues and develop functions; and excellent problem solving and debugging skills. We prefer an MS degree in Business Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics or Computer Science with a minimum of 4 years of experience.
